A Brief Introdiction

by Stephen Tigner

Rois walked through the keep, the bright morning sun shining through the windows, heading for Ryuo's room. ~From what I've heard, he's from my homeland, and is a fox~ she thought to herself. ~I must introduce myself, and perhaps offer to be a translator.~

The centauress reached Ryou's door and knocked gently. Shuffling could be heard on the other side briefly, then the door opened and a vulpine muzzle poked out from the room.

Ryuo blinked and had to look up to see Rois' face. "Konnichi wa" said Rois, "Sessha ha Rois de gozarimasu." She bowed slightly, she cotinued in her native tounge, "And you must be Ryuo."

The vulpine's face brightened, "Yes! How is it that you speak my language so fluently, yet you do not look like you are from my homeland? I've never seen any centaurs around Yamato."

"Well, I was originally human, and met up with a crazed nut of a wizard as well, he turned me into a centaur. He also changed an entire villiage into deformed freaks, and burned another one to the ground. Believe it or not, I was a samurai at the time, with a mount that was a dear friend to me, Rakurai." She then sighed and related the story of her transformation into a centaur for Ryuo.

"Very interesting," Ryuo said after Rois had finished her story.

The centauress nodded softly, then said, "Anyway, I was wanting to offer my services as a translator, since I speak both languages fluently."

Ryou's face brightened, "Could you? I would greatly appreciate that." Rois nodded softly and smiled, "I might even be able to give Misha a hand with that translation spell."

Ryou nodded and smiled, "Thank you," and bowed slightly to Rois.

"You are welcome," came the reply, followed by a similar bow.

Rois smiled, "Well...I must be getting back to training my three apprentices, see you later!" She then trotted off down the hall.
